I Want to Go Home

When I was a teenager the most important thing to me was leaving my hometown to move to the city. I left my hometown a few days after I finished high school. I left and I never looked back. Sometimes I want to go home to my parent's house. They left my room the way it was. The room was small but it was warm and the sheets on the bed are soft. It's a cold morning and my apartment feels cold and empty even though I turned on the heat. Soon I'll leave it to go to work. The emptiness will be waiting for me when I come home. It's even colder in my hometown. It's snowing there this morning but that makes me wish even more that I could go home and crawl into that warm bed with the soft sheets.
