I Believe In Change

A Life of Change Is Why I Can Believe In Change...
I have been very fortunate in my life. I have watched schools being intergrated. I have watched the Black people in the South win the right to use their right to vote by pain of death. I remember the day I could eat in a Five & Dime store just like anyone else in a certain area of town and they could not say...we don't serve coloureds in here, get out.
I saw Equal Opportunity measures finally give me and others the same right to a job as any other race. I saw black people and women become Mayors, Governors, and Senatores. Now, I see a Black man become President. I saw women run countries not as queens or princesses but as prime ministers and dictators. I saw a man fight from a jail cell in South Africa and become President - Mandella.
I see women with the same legal rights as men. I see women with their own businesses, homes, and families. I see men of all races take on larger roles as fathers & husbands in a way they did not do just 40 years ago. I see men who actually care about what their mates are going through and what their mates want. I see single fathers really try to be real dads.
I see people actually doing things for our amimal and plant kingdoms today, things they would not have done 40 years ago.
I see the efforts all over the world for the environment, healthcare, healthy living, and just the care of other human beings. I saw how Americans and other countries, including Cuba pulled together after 9/11, Katrina, Rita, Sunamis' and the other elemental holocasts we and the world have been through.
Even though I worry if we are going to work enough fast enough to save our world I still believe we will.
My mother used to say "If God sees we still love the Earth he will help us child, that's why he always sends a rainbow to us. To remind of us of his promise not to destroy the Earth again. And, we should promise him not to destroy it either.
We have to find enough love in ourselves to love the Earth. Only people who don't care about their own life could so foolishly keep destroying the only place we have to live. Sooner or later we just have to find a way to get along with each other so we can stop destroying world. To me there can be only ONE as they say and that is the Creator. So the rest is just fools play, you know the power junkies, who in the end have to turn over that power to someone else.
So I keep believing because I've seen more change for the good than the bad. I've also seen what happens when good people stop fighting for what is good and right ... deregulation and disasters. It is all just a lesson in the end. I think we have all learned quite a bit this past 40 to 50 years. I still reuse, recycle, fight the fight, and pray everyday all because...
I'm Still Believing....
Peace and Much Love to you all.

Singer1960 if you did not fear during the Bush years, Bush 1 & 2, then why would you worry now? We were so close to the world rising up against us with this last Bush Presidency, it wasn't funny. Do you know that our Allies sighed a breath of relief that it was Bushs' time to leave - Our ALLIES actually wanted Bush out and they did not support a MCCain presidency either.

We do not hold the worlds' trust or respect anymore do to Gitmo and not going after Bin Laden when everyone knows where he is... No I do not fear Obama - what I do fear are the people out there who cannot see how just his presence has calmed the political world. He is not the second coming as some people want to call him.

He is just a cool headed, Black family man, who has the savvy to get us moving again. With all the lies and total disregard for the American family of this last 8 year presidential deregulating failure... why would someone who is telling the truth bother you?

Obama did not say he could change everything over night. He said it might even take more than his term/s in office and another president to get this country back on track. He is not a King - he cannot make Congress do everything he says. He said he was going to Washington to bring about change and he needed all the help could get...nothing scary about that. What actually scares you?? Could you be more specific? If I am missing something I would like some cold hard facts to back it up, okay?

Peace and Much Love to You.
