There are some serial killers who are probably on a high intelligence level.
There are functioning psychopaths who do not go into killing people illegally, but take up vocations that allow their sadism to shine who are on high intelligence levels.

And then there are the less intelligent ones. They have intelligence hierarchy too.

Serial killers are quite intelligent however not free from committing human errors. Generally, most of these criminals successfully get away for years. Pretty sure many never get caught also in their lifetime.

@SW-User I'd disagree, many of those who were caught didn't have much higher intelligence than the rest of the population. Some even below.

@basilfawlty89 law enforcement have access to multiple advanced ways to find even the smartest criminal. Considering serial killers commit a lot of crimes, it takes one mistake to uncover them. Normally, it's one killer vs multiple intelligent minds armed with technology.

Human error happens. Everyone does it.

@SW-User true, but I think more than that comes the grandiosity factor. Most of them think they're more intelligent than others and at the same time want attention, so they end up doing stupid shit. But I guess if it wasn't for the narcissism, sadism and antisocial traits they wouldn't be serial killers.

@basilfawlty89 Those things are deep rooted in their psychology to a limit they can’t or don’t want to think straight. We fired one such guy a while ago. He thought he was better than others because he’s studying to me something while we have highly qualified people working with us who never talk about their intelligence or background.
