Maybe us Native Americans should come up with our own movement called Indigenous Lives Matter

Maybe a trendy little name will finally sway people toward our cause. Who am I kidding? That would never work because our lives don't matter! If they did, people would be willing to help the indigenous peoples now more than never. But like always, we're on our own because people don't give a crap about us. And why would they? Politicians don't need our votes and nobody has anything to gain from helping us. I would say feeling good about themselves for doing it, but they can just protest against the Washington Redskins and Chief Wahoo for that. That's much easier than, you know, actually making a difference.

I think you probably hit the nail on the head with the fact that there's not many of you left so you're not a threat nor an incentive and actual empathy and good will are not really a thing that works long distance. People can't be bothered to care for strangers it's a sad fact of life. Blacks are a large part of the country, they're pretty hard to ignore especially since they've been getting angry for a few centuries and multiplying. The native americans.. Well it doesn't really matter if you're getting angry, not enough of you to matter and not enough of you to swing a vote, so I agree with you 100%.
Take even political correctness: if you have a white guy making fun of blacks and speaking in jive or if he'd go in black face in movies it's pretty much hell breaking loose, but you can dress up like a chief indian and make indian jokes all day long and someone might point out that it's offensive and ... that's about it. Now don't dress me up in a white pointy costume, i'm not saying they should make fun of black people, I'm saying that if hollywood was actually pc they'd extend that courtesy to the people they pretty much wiped out.

As someone with native American blood in their veins, I totally agree.

I think the reason politicians - primarily Democrats - don't do more is exactly what you said. They're not a big enough voting bloc to make it worth their while.

Good post 👍

I think you should educate Drezus the Native Rapper. He may be a native Dumbass who keeps shaming us Americans with his Rap music but he is a Really talented artist. hate to see these Rap artists like him wasted with their political hate speech.

@Starcrossed Tell that to the slacktivists.

That's what I've been telling anyone who's been saying BLM
@Nanori Let me guess - they just ignore it?

Pretty sure AIM covers that. 🖤🤗

That's very well said. The virtue signaling must feel terribly insulting.
@uncalled4 It really is. It makes me sick to my stomach.

@PerchingDove I may be old school, but race relations aren't a PR problem that can be solved by censorship and worthless hashtags or superficial trends. People need to be seen as having inherent value. The media and rioting isn't changing anyone's mind and is likely hurting the dialogue. Sadly, there are probably some unreachable people out there.
