Is worshipping God idolatry?

Still seeking answers to my questions

I have alot of them about God
SW-User
According to Hinduism, yes, it can be but I'm not sure if it's mandatory.
According to Islam, it's 'haram'(forbidden).
According to Christianity (not Catholicism), it can be etc.
SW-User
@SW-User religion is confusing sometimes
SW-User
@SW-User it is, yes but it also depends on how you look at it. You're free to choose your own or not choose at all.
SW-User
@SW-User yup
No. God is not an idol and does not like artifacts or entities associated with God .-.
SW-User
@TheBlackPowerRanger I am honestly interested in this . I am new to this belief. It's a long story .
@SW-User feel free to ask. I am no scholar but I am willing to try my best to help

That is actually a really good question. Not sure if I can give it the response it deserves as I know in my head what I feel but getting the words out isn't so easy.

I am of the belief that those that have to shout about it all the time are simply just convincing their own mind although they will say they are "doing the Lords work". That is idolatry because they are worshiping their own mind and not seeking out God.
SW-User
@curiosi Interesting. So,someone whose only purpose in life is to serve God is actually going against the very nature of God as per idolatry? So many questions.
curiosi · 61-69, F
@SW-User Thing is it goes deeper than that. Many think they just have to shout about God and that is their purpose. I don't believe it is. I believe that our purpose is to love and leave the rest up to God. That means love those that don't believe rather than chastise them.
SW-User
@curiosi Of course !

Without faith, you’ll never find answers to your questions.
SW-User
@gregloa I have faith
gregloa · 61-69, M
@SW-User then why do you have questions?
SW-User
@gregloait's healthy to question everything. That's how we learn and grow

God is the creator. More than just the universe. If you're not satify then. God Bless your soul and loves you
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
No, of course not.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User God is not an idol. Period.
SW-User
@MarkPaul what about Jesus ?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User Jesus is Jehovah’s most precious Son.

No, because he isn't an "idol" or cult image.
Yes, that is not ever prescribed within the testament as is obscene today!!!
@SW-User not really, it's simple, just think creatively with GREEN DREAMS, simple right?
SW-User
@checkoutanytime green dreams ?
@SW-User the testament has all answers, in the beginning the creator created, the creator is a jealous creator, for only 100 years have we given 1st born sons to provocative women, since W.Wilson and unproven science took over humanity. Are you woke or do you wake up eachday?

The Ten Commandments give instruction on what idolatry is.

Have you read Exodus in the Holy Bible?
SW-User
@Pfuzylogic Not in its entirety
Pfuzylogic · M
The Bible defines idolatry in the following verses and its consequences.
Exodus 20:4-6
You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
As soon to be a broken man once said you're either perfect or youre not me...

Feel free to pray to your god...

But trust me i wont be listening
Technically yes.
SW-User
@DropTopDig it's confusing
@SW-User I'm leaving it at that. You don't want to get me started on god.

Even if you don't make any statues or drawings/images of god, that you create images of him in your mind to worship is already idolatry.

What god do you speak of?
That's like asking if fasting is going to satisfy your hunger
