Help on Overcoming Sin/Advice

I am constantly struggling with sin and I have realized that maybe I keep sinning because I don't feel bad about it. So what should a Christian do when he is sinning and doesn't feel bad about it? Any tips/advice would be helpful. I also need help with reading the bible like in consistency. I am not consistent enough with it and I don't read it every day. Some days ago I completed a fast and tried to read 1 bible chapter a day but I didn't finish the whole chapter that day and felt discouraged. So should I do the one year bible reading plan that comes with my kjv or do you think there is a quicker plan that isn't too overwhelming like reading an entire chapter in a day. I feel like I am far from God and I think it is because I keep sinning and I have tried several things to quit it but I always end up coming back to the sin. Give me any suggestions and pray for me if you can, thank you.

Hey I hear you @MightyLion. I think that you might feel like sin is bad because you're reaching out. There's something you're feeling that's telling you that something's up.

I think the first step is to realize that we all sin. We all fall short of the glory of God, right? But that's why Jesus came to die for us. "For the wages of sin is death", but he died "So that we may not perish but have everlasting life". Don't forget God's promise to us.

I go to a Christian liberal arts school and I'm not perfect at all. I struggle with sin and addiction every day. But I don't just let it happen - I actively combat against these things. One way that helps me at least is reading John, but only a small section at a time. My bible has small subheadings inside each chapter that divide chapters into smaller sections. It's worth a shot - try to summarize each paragraph, too. Take it a paragraph at a time and summarize, take some time to reflect over the day. I read the ESV if that helps any.

Finally, keep praying. King David in the Old Testament was "a man after God's own heart". They didn't have the whole bible that we have today - they had the first five books as their laws to abide by and that was it. The rest was prayer. Invite God to work with you and walk with you through this. You're gonna keep messing up sometimes because we all do, but it's the trying to be better that God sees.

Take reading in smaller chunks cuz too much at a time can be overwhelming and keep going to God. You can message me if that helps, too. Chin down, hands up, and keep fighting :)
