Where do you run?

There is a university close by I'm thinking of trying out. Their track is open to the public.

I've been running outside in my neighborhood since March. Winter is almost here so I'm transitioning to the gym treadmill. 😣

@NotJamieM that's great! Hows the results?
NotJamieM · 46-50, M
@RunnerO Doing ok. I was doing 4 miles most days outside. The treadmill inside, and with a mask on, is tougher. But I ran 4 miles straight without stopping the other day. I'm also doing elliptical, 3 miles on that when I do 4 on the treadmill, and 5 miles elliptical when I run two. I already feel some results (and I'm soaked when I'm done, lol). 😊

@RunnerO have you ever done a marathon?
There's a greenway very close to my house, actually within walking distance, which encircles a beautiful golf course. It's a 2.75 mile track through wooded areas and on bridges over a beautiful, large creek. It's always populated with runners, bicyclists, walkers, people walking their dogs. The track is paved and wide enough that no one gets in someone else's way. It's a wonderful facility, operated and maintained by the park system. It even has an exercise station with several very nice pieces of equipment. It's great.

Usually parks. I don't like running out on streets, can be dangerous.

@xRedx I agree

@RunnerO one of my dad's friends died like that. I prefer running inside a gated park

If I'm not running I'm swimming
RunnerO · 26-30, F
@rachelsj I swim too, but not that often

How come there are gyms for weight lifting but hardly any gyms for track and field athletes? I’m curious. I wish I could get a membership to a gym with a track inside so that I didn’t have to ask around or wait for high school/college tracks to become available.
