I Love My Mom

I woke up this morning at 3am with a headache. I had to get up early to drive my mom and step dad to the airport, so I went downstairs to catch a few Z's on the livingroom couch. It was a bit chilly so I pulled my kid's Disney Frozen blanket over me for added warmth. (The irony of using Frozen to keep warm was not lost on me)
I had just dozed off when I was woken up by my mother coming downstairs. She couldn't sleep either. She saw I had been sleeping on the couch with Elsa and Anna barely covering my full length. The following epitomizes 90% of the conversations I seem to have with my mom.

Mom: Are you warm enough?
Me: I'm fine, thanks.
Mom: Want a blanket?
Me: I have a blanket.
Mom: That's not warm enough.
Me: It's fine mom, I'm good.
Mom: Want me to get you a warmer blanket?
Me: I don't need one. I'm comfortable.

Pause.

Mom: I'm going to get you another blanket.
Me: Mom! I don't want another blanket.
Mom: You sure?
Me: Positive.
Mom: You don't look warm enough.
Me: Goodnight mom...

Let it go....let it go...
Moms love to fuss. That is part of being a mom. I still ask my 30-year-old son "Where is your coat? You must be cold!"
