The main reason I know my type is because I used to donate blood.

I know mine, your family should know theirs, might earn them a bit of time if something bad ever happens and they need a transfusion but hopefully nothing bad will happen

Yes, it used to be on my driving licence when I worked abroad, in case of an accident, which I thought was really sensible.

It's compulsory in Algeria for all high-school students to get Rh and ABO typing tests.
