These So Called Experts

Think we are idiots!

So they don’t want to call them “masks” but “face coverings,” 🤦‍♀️ In case we get the notion to wear surgical type masks, or we get mixed up with surgical masks. Then they are afraid, we won’t stay 6-feet apart, or wash our hands, if we wear face masks...I’m not kowtowing to their stupid political correctness. Honestly, we are treated like 5-year-olds by the task force, the CDC, and the corrupt WHO. 😡

I don't blame them, most of us are retards that fight over toilet paper rolls during a crisis.

@SW-User This is true.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
You do make a valid point, but when it comes to our lives on the line, let them be upfront and honest. I truly believe people would be alive today, if they had given us the truth from the start and not fudge the truth because of wanting to be a cheerleader or engage in political correctness. @SW-User

@Carissimi Or worry about ratings!!
If they are trying to get people to protect themselves and others, who cares? In reading posts on this site alone, it's frightening how ill-informed many people still are when it comes to transmission.

People need to quit expecting to be coddled and just take care of their shit so we all can be safe.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I would think those who have lost loved ones would care. I care, for one. They could have saved lives and suffering...because this disease causes great suffering when severe... if they had been up front in the beginning.

I used my own common sense from way back, and bought my masks before the sh*t hit the fan, having just recovered from the flu and bronchitis, at that time. I was taking no chances once I knew it was in this country. @TheFlippantSide
@Carissimi That's not what I meant. I mean, why get offended by public health officials' attempts to keep people safe? "Common sense" doesn't always cut the mustard. I'm in the medical field and constantly having to educate people on taking proper precautions, and I'm surprised at a lot of the misinformation I come across.

What I meant is...who cares about appeasing anyone's delicate sensibilities? People need to get over themselves and quit being so sensitive about things. It's not about you.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
I am starting to feel the same way. I can't figure out if they are being purposely deceptive as a power move or because they genuinely have such a low regard for the people they are supposed to serve.

It's one thing to offer explanations in different ways to accommodate different comprehension levels among a diverse population. But, this, "we can't trust you with the truth, so let us just say..." is grating.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
In their defense - there are a lot of stupid people out there.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
The government in general thinks the people outside of their world are idiots. Idiots exist but so do people smarter than them. They don't like to think about that. It's not surprising they found a way to slip political correctness into this situation.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
It’s because they’ve goofed, and there aren’t just not enough masks for everyone - there aren’t even enough for medical professionals.

I'm just never leaving the house ever again it is a lot easier then dealing with this b.s
Entwistle · 56-60, M
You choose whether to listen or not. How are the WHO corrupt?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
They will not recognize that Taiwan exists. They will not even talk about it when asked, even in a pandemic. They tout the Chinese propaganda, which is their first priority. Fortunately for Taiwan, because WHO won’t include them, or even recognize them, in this pandemic, the Taiwanese developed their own preventive measures very early, and have only had 5 deaths so far. @Entwistle The WHO is a political mouthpiece for China in the guise of a health organization.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Carissimi For as far as I'm aware... the US doesn't recognise Taiwan since 1979. They do still have deals with Taiwan for trade (and even arms). But Taiwan isn't officially recognised.

And in an article from 2019 in Newsweek... they say only 14 nations in the UN (193 nations in total) recognise Taiwan as a sovereign nation. Namely: Belize, Eswatini, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Nicaragua, Palau, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Tuvalu.

Since the WHO is an organisation that works under the UN banner, and the UN is an organisation that fully depends on what their 193 member states think... maybe you shouldn't bring this up as an argument? 🙄
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I’m not bringing anything up as an argument. I don’t want to argue. There is a fu**ing pandemic going on. You asked a question. I responded. Your type makes me sick. No matter how bad it gets, you want to argue. Get some character and empathy, you weasel. @Kwek00

It’s unbelievable! The rest of us have known this for at least 2-months. @Harriet03
WHOM? no pic here ?@Harriet03
Carissimi · 70-79, F
If I remember correctly, it’s the Governor of Georgia, who said he just found out that there are asymptomatic carriers. Most of us have known this since before it reached Europe and our own shores. @NiightOwl

Tell those who lost their lives, and their families to stay calm. This PC and untruths lost lives. @SteelHands
