Scientists agree that a large number - probably a big majority - of all coronavirus cases never make it into the official figures because they are not severe enough for hospital treatment.
The more widely a country tests, the more of these milder cases it will find.
Since the most severe cases are almost always tested, the number of coronavirus deaths will likely stay the same.

Regarding Germany and corona: as of 09/02/2020 it's obvious that their government did the right things at the right time – not perfect of course, but reasonably well.
Corona has never really become the subject of a heated [u]political[/u] debate, in Germany.

Germany has a remarkably low coronavirus death rate thanks largely to mass testing, but also culture, luck, and an impressive healthcare system.

robertoduran no i do not think they have would be very selfish if they had to keep the remedy to themselves when so many have contracted and are dying of corona virus think it is more the case of german efficiency getting on top of the situation with stringent rules and regulations during this corona virus outbreak

they actually reinforced healthcare when everybody else was slowly stripping down to bare minimum... they have a massive number of IC beds per capita in comparison to just about every other country
