How much does your dentist charge for a white tooth filling?

jomsim · 26-30, M
Depends on the tooth. I don't think it goes much above £250. I've not had one as an adult but they have a price guide up in the surgery.

@CrazyMusicLover Yeah, true, like accidents - it's just a different way of delivering a healthcare system.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@jomsim Our insurance companies used to fully cover amalgam fillings. I don't know if they still do though. Dentists rarely use them nowadays anyway.

@CrazyMusicLover I don't think we do them here, either, but I think they might have been £30 or something. If you get a couple in your life then £1 per year insurance covers the £60 cost. If you pay more than £1 per year for dental only, someone's making a profit, though! I'd rather pay the £60 out of my own pocket and not make insurance payments.

@CrazyMusicLover [c=#359E00]maybe they charge a lot to quickly return their investment when they attend medical college[/c] 🤦‍♀️

@YukikoAmagi Hehe, they went out of college long ago. I've been going to this dentist since I was a child.

[c=#BF0080]I don’t know, but years ago they wanted $50 extra for it. [/c]
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@MellyMel22 Yeah, I remember they were more expensive in the past. I don't know if it's still true but I heard that the insurance fully covered amalgam filling, while composite was fully covered by a patient, where I live. Nowadays are amalgam fillings banned for kids younger than 15 and they are used rarely in general, so everyone has to pay.

So is it more or less for black people tooth
Newfound · 41-45, M
The same as a Wong one
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Newfound What is Wong?
$750. With dental insurance.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@bijouxbroussard 😵 Why so much?! I don't understand.
@CrazyMusicLover Sorry, I misread. That’s what a crown costs here. And this dentist is in network. The monthly premium for Cigna on my plan is $3.00, and cleanings and fillings cost nothing.
