Depends on the tooth. I don't think it goes much above £250. I've not had one as an adult but they have a price guide up in the surgery.

@jomsim 😱 £250? Seriously? If you have an insurance?

@CrazyMusicLover We don't really do dental insurance so much here, I think because letting teeth go bad is a lifestyle choice. Some of the things that you can't be to blame for are, I think, available on the NHS, free at the point of use.

@jomsim 😱 That's...scary. It's not always a lifestyle choice.

@CrazyMusicLover Yeah, true, like accidents - it's just a different way of delivering a healthcare system.

@jomsim Our insurance companies used to fully cover amalgam fillings. I don't know if they still do though. Dentists rarely use them nowadays anyway.

@CrazyMusicLover I don't think we do them here, either, but I think they might have been £30 or something. If you get a couple in your life then £1 per year insurance covers the £60 cost. If you pay more than £1 per year for dental only, someone's making a profit, though! I'd rather pay the £60 out of my own pocket and not make insurance payments.
