Have you ever had a problem with black mold?

How did you get rid of it?

Just recently. We were having the bathroom remodeled and discovered the pipes were not correctly installed originally. They were leaking under the floor for years, and black mold was the result. The contractor sealed off the area and used a combination of chemicals and an ozone machine to eradicate the mold.

You threaten the landlord with calling the health inspector and they problem resolves itself

@PoizonApple because rent is no longer affordable in my area. 😵

My old 3/2 900 sq ft apartment was 1000/month when I moved out in 2013. My new mortgage plus taxes plus insurance is at 1050/month. 3/2 home with 1400 sq ft.

My mortgage hasn't changed. Rent on that old apartment is now 1650/month.

The difference more than makes up for maintenance costs.

@ViciDraco I pay $1550 for a 2 bedroom shithole. Buy buying it would have been 450K

@PoizonApple timing is everything. I couldn't afford this house if I bought it at today's value. I'm sure another market crash is right around the corner though...

@Dino11 If you're going to try to remove it yourself take precautions. Wear protective clothing, seal off the room with plastic sheeting, and create negative pressure by running a fan blowing out a window. You want to make sure you get it all without breathing any of it in, getting it in your eye, or even on your skin.
