My main Dr is a DO. She had been an ER doc for many years. The main difference I see is she spends time, really listens, and interacts. She doesn't blow in and out of the room in 30 seconds like most. Our appointments generally run about an hour. And she does not act like she knows everything and I know nothing. We discuss and negotiate plans, even though we don't agree on everything.
Now, how much of this is because of her maturity, background, temperament, gender reference as opposed to her medical training, I have no way to separate out

Yes, I used to work at a camp and the camp physician was a D.O. He was competent enough, stitched up a cut and set a friends broken nose.
My step father's primary care physicians have been D.O.'s first the father and now his son....my Step-Dad will be 103 yrs old this month.
