If we have metals like iron and zinc in our blood, why doesn't that set off metal detectors?

Is it too small an amount of metal? Or is it because it's tiny particles of it instead of a big chunk?

Metal detectors aren't sensitive enough to detect those trace amounts.

It is in tiny particles rather than big chunks. On a side note the human body has enough iron in it to make a nail.
