I Cry When I'm Happy
So crying right now and feels so good! So we were planning on seeing hubby's family in a week or so once the month changes, and guess what I found out? My parents were going to visit some old friends and guess where they are? Idaho! And no just Idaho but a few miles away from hubby's family in Idaho!
So the Amish grapevine is very long and loud. Last time we visited his family last year there was a small Amish community not too far and one of the families had opened up an Amish market that I HAD to visit for so many reasons. While I was there I made friends with the daughter of the owner and we talked for soooo long and introduced me to her mam and dat. It was wonderful. Of course protocol when getting together is you share everything about you with everyone so they knew I was under ban right off the bat. Lukily, they were ok with it.
Well yesterday I get a call from the mam and she says that hubby's mam was in that day to buy a few things and mentioned we were going to visit and how much I LOVED their butter cheese. She asked his mam when we were coming and if she had my number and all that and his mam knows I wouldn't mind her having it and gave it. So she was calling to say hello and that of her relatives in a community in michigan is good penpals with my dat. And my dat was mentioning coming out to visit him and then visiting her family this summer with my mam since they're close friends and haven't seen each other in person since they were young.
So as soon as my MIL mentioned us coming Katie's mam called a mennonite friend near her michigan family and got the dates for everything my mam and dat were planning and they were coming to visit Katie's family later in May a couple weeks after we did. So her mam spent most of her day calling around and around until she found the number for my mam's store and told them I was going to be visiting at the beginning of the month. The two of them and dat managed to arrange for them to come out early so they can see us.
I'M GOING TO SEE MAM AND DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't seen them since I left PA so it's been 18 years. Exactly half my life without my family and now we get to be reunited for a few days. I'm just bouncing off the walls in happy right now. They'll finally get to meet hubby and his family too and I'd no idea Katie's family were such good friends with them either. Her parents probably didn't mention at the times we first met because of the harshness of banning and that separation but it's so good to have it play out like this.
God is SO good!
