If a job has okay or horrible reviews, would you apply for the job position?

Someone told me to never apply for a job that has low reviews because I will regret it. Even if you desperately need a jobs, would you do it? I may sound shallow but I like to apply for jobs that have really good reviews.
I applied for this one job that has 3.5 reviews but someone said I’m making a mistake. Well I need a job!

I only put so much faith in reviews. People tend to use them as a means of getting even, even if what they're reviewing didn't do anything wrong. I also think people with a complaint are more likely to take the time to write a review, which can skew the numbers.
