I Am Unemployed

Three different company interviews. One I made it to the second round of interviews.

One: "we are going in a different direction"
Second: pass- no reason given.
Third: nothing.

Is there anything more degrading than having to sell yourself and still being told "we don't want you".

I'm 55 and recently made redundant. After 115 job applications, one interview and no success I gave up for several months.
Started looking again 2 weeks ago, got a job out in the Country as a forklift driver on a 1 month trial.
The system is degrading and can easily drain a persons self esteem and feeling of worth.
@Gusman Is the new job far different from your old job? I have read that it is perfectly normal for those our age to be unemployed for a long period of time. I agree with your last sentence.

@PoetryNEmotion Job is totally different from my previous position. I operated a complicated fixed plant metal cutting machine. But I also had a forklift licence which I was able to utilise for this new position. Need to move from the City, 90 miles out into the country. Got to do what you got to do. Easier for me, single and no ties. Not much worse than the feeling that society does not want you.😕
