I Think Failed Relationships Change People

Speaking of Failed relationships...I sure have learned a lot from them! Yes, it has definitely changed me!
I chat with a high school friend daily, who lives out of State now. We talk back n forth about our relationships. We're a lot alike, yet so very different. She's in a trustless relationship, while I am in a relationship where there is trust, but I still have my guard up. While she feels it's her business what is on her bf's phone & who he talks with or texts with is her business, I don't feel that way about my Partner. Who she choses to talk with or text isn't my business, nor is she obligated to share that information with me just because we are a couple. My friend was like, but you're a couple. I responded with , yes, but that doesn't mean I own her or the right to have a say who she choses to talk or associate with. I'm not her keeper and nor is she mine. One cannot control what someone else is doing & to spend energy worrying about those things or trying to control those things is a waste of energy. Allow people to be FREE...like the butterfly, for if you hold onto it too tightly it will die or fly away. I'll only get duped once, then I'm done with you. She gets duped over & over & continues to stay. How do you people feel, when it comes to what you think is your business or not your business with your significant other? How do you handle such situations?

Some people simply lack self confidence and never quite believe anyone can actually be into just them. They are always fearful their partner will leave them. I guess they don't realize knowing what the partner is doing won't stop them from leaving.

@lasergraph Well, in her case, her man already cheated on her, early in the relationship & has had a history of the same thing with ex wives, so SHE has reasons to not trust & want to know just who he's texting or speaking with. Plus they live together. I, on the other hand, don't live with my Partner & there have been no transgressions between us. Oh, believe me, I have abandonment issues, but that doesn't mean I put a ball n chain on someone. You want someone else...please go, don't want to be here....please feel free to keep walking. I'm good with that. I expect it even lol but sure won't put up with being mistreated. I'd rather be alone.
