I Support All Military Soldiers

As with Veterans Day, it is difficult for me to say HAPPY Memorial Day. It is also not a day for me to go to a BBQ and celebrate those we've lost and honor. So, if I'm invited, I don't go.

Our troops are something special. They all work hard to protect us from harm, and many of them lose their lives in doing so. They are not afraid of that. They step out and volunteer.

So many people lose their family members, I know I've lost many friends. Dearest friends.

I live in a city that houses many military soldiers. With schools for our troops to learn new languages before being moved to another country. I am surrounded by soldiers, who to me are just kids. Some of them young enough to be my own children, and it terrifies me at times to think about what these kids are about to face. All I can do is wish them the best, with a smile, a pat on the back, even a hug.

Lets take this Memorial Day to remember those we've loved and lost. And certainly, don't forget to thank those who are still with us today.

Well said.

I never say "Happy" Memorial Day. Somehow seems inappropriate in view of what the day is about.
