I Support All Military Soldiers

As Memorial Day approaches my heart breaks. Tomorrow, will be a day that I will have to include my nephew, but like an adopted son. He was active duty and died tragically a few months back. He had a dignified transfer and I picked him up on the tarmac, along with the Honor Guard, his captain escorted him back to me, and stayed until he was in his final resting place. ( which I visit several times a week).

I then attended his military “Fallen Solider Ceremony” on base. To sit and hear his ‘Final Roll Call’, following TAPS, and 21 Gun Salute was utterly devastating to me. I was honored that he received a honorable ceremony and his General spoke at his ceremony. But, I’ve never been the same person. Something in my soul died.

So, Memorial Day is to honor our Military service members that have fallen. It’s not a national BBQ day. ( I feel that’s some of America thinks)

Tomorrow say a silent prayer for my SGT. Fallen Hero. He was only 26, with small children - and all service members that fought for our freedom that are no longer with us.

Thank you.
