I Am Not Religious

[c=#7700B2]so in the New Testament there is a part where it basically says they humans are gods clay, he moulded half of us to be blessed by him and forgiven and the other half to be damned no matter what..

How can people try claiming that God is all loving? The New Testament clearly says other wise..

Half the population are damned to hell just because he wanted it that way..

Your God isn't all loving, he is just a massive douche [/c]

Out of interest, where in the New Testament does it say that?
gregloa61-69, M
@room101 it doesn't
xSharp31-35, M
[@room101: there are many different versions but bassically adams made from earth and eve was made out of a piece of adam (his rib) because patriarchy.. lol

and thats the story of where false ribs came from! XD
room10151-55, M
@xSharp erm, that's The Old Testament and nowhere in the Adam and Eve story does it say that half the population is "damned to hell"
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 because half the population does not eat the symbolic blood and flesh of a dead jew every sunday. the was no revelations either.. lolz so the apocalypse was made up later on for extra fear\control.. 馃槙

[c=#7700B2] Romans 9[/c]
room10151-55, M
@PlumBerries That's what's often known as Paul's Anguish. He's talking about the Children of Israel but it can be taken to mean all those who have lost their faith or do not live according to the teachings of Christ and the covenant made with Abraham.

In other words, it's not as arbitrary as you try to make out. I'm not saying that I buy into it or that I agree with it but, if we're going to critique something then we should at least get it right in the first place.
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 so the new testament does NOT say that the only way to heaven is through jesus? cause the old testament has been made obsolete by the new after all..
room10151-55, M
@xSharp how is that relevant to the original post?
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 she denounced the whole non factual nonsense and you suggested she at least get it right before she criticized it, are you implying she become biblical scholar before she can talk crap about a work of fiction? because im sure you have ridiculed many crappy t.v. show plots yourself without having worked as a writer for those same crappy shows..
gregloa61-69, M
@PlumBerries what about Romans 10
room10151-55, M
@xSharp and you know that I ridicule TV shows without even watching them? How did you pull off that trick?

You don't have to be a Biblical scholar to be informed. There's this wonderful new invention that gives us access to all manner of information. You may have heard of it. It's called the internet.
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 yes, and i used it to find about 50 different writings of the SAME VERSE.. so we could go all day long about which is right or wrong. lol we need only know the one interpretation to know thats its all nonsense.
PlumBerries31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]i interpreted it that way just as you interpreted it another way.. I'm sure if I was religious that I would twist it and so on to still try to make God seem great but yet I'm not religious and I don't see it that way.. [/c]
room10151-55, M
@xSharp fifty different writings of the same verse? yeah, of course you did
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 they changed a word here and there, dirt dust earth whatever, you get the idea. il post my source if you wish.

http://biblehub.com/genesis/2-7.htm
room10151-55, M
@PlumBerries there are a lot of academics who study theology and are not religious. That's not the point. The point is to try and understand the words, not to misrepresent them to suite your purpose. Whether that purpose is to promote religion or to denigrate it.
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 the jesus faith has its own definition of the word discernment, and i think you know why they have it.. lol
room10151-55, M
@xSharp again, you've got the wrong part of the Bible and are using a source that is irrelevant to the original post. Do try and stay on topic
room10151-55, M
@xSharp you think........I doubt that very much
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 the topic is religion and the reasons why its fiction. a rather broad topic. lol
xSharp31-35, M
@room101 "i think, therefore i am" 馃槍

Cogito ergo sum
gregloa61-69, M
@PlumBerries if your so "not religious " then why do you care?Why are you reading the Bible?
Why must you read the Bible only to try and prove to yourself it's wrong. Why do you care if I believe the Bible is true. Why can't you respect my beliefs. So because I believe what do you think of me.
xSharp31-35, M
@gregloa because you believe your beliefs override the beliefs of others as per your all powerful and singular god. we cant have that. 馃槙
room10151-55, M
@xSharp so you can quote Descartes.

In his Meditations on First Philosophy Descartes sets forth two proofs for God's existence. One of these is founded upon the possibility of thinking the "idea of a being that is supremely perfect and infinite," and suggests that "of all the ideas that are in me, the idea that I have of God is the most true, the most clear and distinct." Descartes considered himself to be a devout Catholic and one of the purposes of the Meditations was to defend the Catholic faith.

hhhmmmmm I'll let you ponder on that a bit
gregloa61-69, M
@xSharp where did you get that from. Wow I can't believe you just said that.
