I Have Kidney Stones
A pain in the arse... and other places
I have had a 12mm stone in my left kidney for the past 3 years (it was 7mm back in 2011 though), and ever since it has caused me problems. Up until three days ago, it was always manageable. But three days ago my pain meds stooped working, leaving me with a very (very) unpleasant experience. Apparently, the stone has shifted and almost completely clogged the kidney tube (or whatever the hell you call it). Since then, I've been running all over the hospital, going from one doctor to the next as they all tried to examine and determine what has gone wrong with my kidney.
I actually have to applaud them, since they got all the work done in less than 24 hours (it normally takes them half a year due to waiting queues). I'm on new medication right now, and once things settle, I will most likely undertake some procedure to get rid of the tinny bugger.
Hey, as long as I don't have to deal with the long semi-sleepless feverish nights full of pain, nightmares and hallucinations, I more than happy with the outcome. :)
