I Need a New Job

Am I the only one who procrastinates on putting in job applications because of the social aspect of working with people?
What I mean is, I get tired of having to talk to people all day. I get tired of dealing with people and different personalities. Tired of trying to make conversation for the sake of having a friendly work environment when I don't really care about these people and I'm sure they don't care about me either.
I've been new on plenty of jobs and I hate it. It's just like being new in school. I hate having to ask questions. I hate not knowing how to do things. I have tried to get to know coworkers only for them to act like they never even met you the very next day.

I am however 'okay' with the fact that where I work at now, no one talks to me. I am done trying to talk to them. Its like high school. If one person doesn't like you, then others won't talk to you either for fear that folks will stop talking to them as well, so they hang with the others and leave you, although they were talking to you, and hanging with you before the others even came along.

Sitting here thinking what the hell I went to school for because right now I'd rather not work

I am currently employed btw
just hate the dam job

Self employment seems like it would suit you more. Start a little online shop or business with a skill or product you can do solo. Its pretty simple and only requires a few hundred investment if that. I went solo 8 years ago and my work life has never been better.

@iamnikki message me a list of your skills. And or relevant abilities. And we can go from there.

@appassionata I thought about being a free lance artist or something like that

Ah, my job requires talking to people, I am an outpatient counselor. I travel to their homes. However I do office out of my own home. I have to go to our office maybe 3 times a month so very little coworker interaction. I love not being involved in office politics.

@Trenchycoat yea I don't mind talking to customers/clients since you see them briefly. But it's the soul sucking coworkers that I can't stand.

There are jobs that don鈥檛 require a lot of taking to ppl

@kate21 I've worked in warehouses. I hate it and other mundane boring work. I'm gonna see if I can find work-from-home jobs. I know of a lady who does this and works for an airlines company

Cool. Medical billing i think is good for that kind of work. @iamnikki

@kate21 I'd have to go back to school.馃槱 I've been in school so long already and finally graduated this year

I can relate to this so much. I'm not really comfortable with interacting with people sometimes and I don't know what field you're in but customer service jobs are the worst but we need money to survive 馃槙

@Chickie Yep, it's retail. The customers aren't so bad. It's the coworkers that don't work, and having to stand all day and no where to 'hide' when you are emotionally drained and tired of it all. That's why I look forward to breaks in my car alone.
ChickieF
@iamnikki I know what you mean I caught pure hell with my last job and nobody wanted to help out. It wasn't until my last few months that they finally warmed up to me.
