I Love to See Old Married Couples Hold Hands

In Canterbury cathedral yesterday there was an old couple holding hands looking at the memorials on the walls who were holding hands. I don't know if they were Americans, Dutch or Germans, but that's the nationalities of people I've seen before doing it. I was only inside for about half hour, a quiet time, but still a little a bustle.

My first girlfriend often asked me would we be doing that when old. Well I've no way of knowing about her these days but sometimes think of it when I hold someone else's. It is romantic.

That's always so nice to see, an old couple holding hands. It gives me hope that it's possible to stay close, perhaps for a lifetime.
