I Love to See Old Married Couples Hold Hands

Miss Loretta And Mister Curtis... So, today I was riding my bike around my new neighborhood. I have been dying to just meet my fellow neighbors for awhile since I moved here. While riding around, I saw a sign that said, "Garage Sell, Fri-Sat. I peddled over. The couple was putting things away when I approached and I asked if I could look around some. The woman kindly said yes and I started sifting..

And the things were so lovely and vintage. She introduced herself as Loretta and her husband Curtis. Honestly, I forgot their names a little and had to hear them introduce themselves again, but that's later down the story. She asked me about my school, my new home, and how things were coming along. She was so generous and sweet. Her husband said, "Oh wait, we have to hurry, so we can get home on time." And he laughed. She laughed and said, "I love him because he's funny." And he replied with, "I love her because she actually likes me jokes, while everyone thinks I'm an idiot." And they both laughed softly.

After a while of searching, she said that all the clothes I saw belonged to her granddaughter and that any clothing item that I wanted would be free. I was so thankful because I picked out loads of stuff. I have a few new dresses and outfits that were all free, plus some new bras. I also have a beautiful new painting that was originally 10$. It's a scene of the ocean and sand with pink flowers.

After we loaded everything into the box.. She said that since things wouldn't fit with me on my bike, she just suggested to take me in their truck. I felt like a small burden but delightfully took their offer. They loaded my bike into the back along with the box, and we all got into the truck. Mister Curtis saw some books he had on the nose of the truck and told Loretta to go get them. When she left, he drove the car back some and she stuck her tongue out at him.

This is where curiosity gripped me. I asked, "So, how long have you been married." And he answered, "For 21 beautiful and wonderful years and happy." He added that they were married before, divorced, but when they met, they were happy ever since.

When we got to my house, she introduced herself to the person I stay with. This is where I remembered their names. I also recall, on the drive home, that she mentioned her church. She asked if I would like to come this Sunday, but before I could even answer, it was time to embark. But God, do I plan on going.

And this is why I love old couples. They are absolutely inspiring and I plan on finding love like that one day.
