I Play Magic the Gathering

I started playing very briefly when it was first about here in the UK in the 90s, but it wasn't until about 6 years ago that I started getting heavily into it and attended a local small FNM community. Since then I've really come to admire the game, how it brings people together and how it can condition your mind.

I've built my own decks for most of that time, and while I've dabbled with every colour I've predominantly been fond of white and black, with red not being too far behind. I mostly choose to work out the constructions purely based on what I can come up with on my own without looking at guides or what others have done, so I'm not as great a player as I could be; I just find satisfaction in knowing that when I've built a deck and it succeeds that it's purely my own doing. I'm particular fond of a close-to-modern artifact deck that I've built which can be fun to bring out and see people react to.

I'm just there to enjoy the game rather than be all that competitive. It's great to get away from technology for a while to enjoy something with a community of decent people in the flesh and do something that puts your mind to the test.

I'd change my FB pick to me holding it up. My mum things whatever I buy is a waste of money, she threw no end of my things away when I lived at home as it was 'rubbish' and simply doesn't believe a 'card' could be worth more than a few pence.
