I Am Not Everyones Cup Of Tea

I would like to find other people who aren't afraid of themselves - people who are willing to look beyond their personalities to their souls. It takes courage to leave behind the identity and move into the unknown. Having a willingness to do that is absolutely not everyone's cup of tea.

@Vivaci I will, gladly. Thank you for your willingness to expand.
@PhoenixPhail I find it very boring when I don't challenge myself. Change for the better...
PhoenixPhailM
@Vivaci I find the same, exactly. In my seeking connection with people, I'm challenged in finding others who care to leave the comfort and security of their conditioning. But I certainly understand their fear of that. I'm glad you're not afraid to challenge yourself. 馃
@PhoenixPhail Well, I've seen my elders suffer, just coz their ego was bigger than their reality. They were in constant denial and lived very falsely. I found it utterly miserable.... Maybe that's why I'm like this.
PhoenixPhailM
@Vivaci I think that probably has a lot to do with it. It would seem who you truly are had power over who your surroundings might have wanted you to become. I think the misery you felt was your natural guidance system informing you to go the other way, into your life, instead of into a false reality. I Love It.
@PhoenixPhail Thank you!! Yes, that's how I learned that it's better to change than suffer in ego battles.

I would love for more people to follow suite. And I know, first hand, how difficult it is to make that shift. Old habits die hard.

I'm so often reminded of the words of Carl Jung; "People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own soul."
@PhoenixPhail That's a very good quote!! So true.... And it's pathetic the extent they go to in order to look good!! 馃槙

@Vivaci Yes it is. I think most people are so self-absorbed, the only thing they really care about is how they look to others. But you know, it's not entirely their fault. Authority instills fear into the people. It's a good control device. The people are indoctrinated into superficiality. Keeping the public entertained, and concerned about the superficial and mundane, keeps them from seeing truth everywhere.
