I Am A Victim Of Emotional Abuse And Verbal Abuse

I am still coming to terms with it but soon I will finally be divorced from my wife. She was a emotionaly abusive alcoholic. Its been 7 months since I kicked her out of the house and its been an emotional roller coaster. No part of me wants her back but still struggling to deal with it all. Have some ups and a lot of downs. Only been in two serious relationships however both were abusive yet this one was by far the worst.

Thanks! Yeah it does happen to men as well but tends to be kept quiet or we suck it up because its the "manly" thing to do. Something I did for a while. :(

Yes...but you were brave enough to take matters into hands and do the right thing...others just keep whining and complaining...doing nothing. My guess? They love the situation of being the "victim"...lots of those here.

@Magariz I don't agree with the 'manly' part, men have emotions too just like women. That's what makes us human

Emotions is something I have always struggled with. Growing up being sensitive and emotional was a weakness. I tend to just shut down. Working on that though.

@Magariz Again, yes the main thing is to recognise and act on it. Its ok to be sensitive and emotional just don't let it eat you up :)

Work in progress. I tend to keep everything in, even when the walls are on fire and collapsing. My biggest flaw.
