Dionysus We do have very similar tastes. I like my spicy food very, very much indeed. Thai salad is a favourite. You spiralise cucumber and shred carrot and onions (or julienne them), crush peanuts in a bag with a rolling pin. Mix all that together and for the dressing, oil, rice vinegar, salt, sugar, and then as many dried chilli flakes as you can take, and toss the salad through the dressing. I'm allergic to carrot so I substitute celeriac / endives / chicory or just substitute the carrot with cooked and chilled rice noodles.
I do some wild rice salads as well with beans and or actual fresh chillies.
