My lawnmower just broke down. I'm so pissed.

I usually have to buy new lawnmowers every couple of years, and am sick of it. My last new one broke down a few weeks ago after constantly having to hire people to work on it, and it always breaking down. I bought a used one a few weeks ago on Craigslist, and it broke down today, which was the only day off work I had to mow. So I had to pay my neighbor to mow, and I decided to order an old fashioned reel mower. I know it will take longer to mow, but hopefully I won't have to have it in the shop all the time. I'm just so disgusted with dealing with these mowers! I wish I could afford to live in an apartment or condo!

re: bought a used one. You get what you pay for. I got a brand new Sears Craftsman mower on Amazon for about $250 a year ago. Rather pay a little more for something new than buy somebody else's problem. (My last mower lasted about 15 years. They shouldn't die out so soon.)

@hlpflwthat It was either $250 for a new one or $100+ to repair the 15-year-old one. Things wear out. That's the problem. I just had a car I cherished for decades blow a head gasket. Very painful to junk it instead of spending $1,500-$2,000 to fix it.

I've had my craftsman self propelled for about 15 years now still holding up had to replace the belt to the front wheels a couple times and the spark plug once or twice and change oil every other year that's been it. Good luck with yours..

@smiler2012 Plenty of $20,000 commercial mowers come with no more than a 12 month warranty.
