one thing that is peculiar about the last 100 years is that smart people with good education tend to make very few children yet the dumb people reproduce like rabbits so I'm afraid if anything we will start to regress. natural selection is all about number of children who reach reproduction age and make more children. if dumb people make more children than smart people the population will become dumb. if a species develops a new trait its because the carriers of the new gene made more healthy children who ended up reproducing.
