I couldn't agree more!! We have a couple of bases here, Army & Coast Guard. Whenever I get close enough to someone, no matter where they are (restaurant, store, walking downtown) I make a point of thanking them. They all have a piece of my heart, including those here. I thank you!
@silentwriter180 My Son in law and I were invited to Sonny's BBQ for a meal Monday ,my son in law was a nuke tech USN for 12 years then went into recruiting ,I just pulled 4 then went to work for a rail road But I was proud of him when he disappeared and when he returned I asked where he had gotten off to and he told me he was paying for the meals of 2 police officers that obviously weren't Vets ,(The Vets all were served the same combinations of meals ,they were not ) I wanted to salute them and thank them for protecting and serving our city but my son in law was to embarrassed ,but he did pay for their meals We almost had to whip the waitress for trying to refuse a tip , So many serve in so many ways ,,we are all in this together They deserve our respect too ,its a calling putting you're life on the line for others ,,not just a job Thank you for letting them know its appreciated Today so many seen to forget ,,our freedom is not free Someone is Always paying for it ,,most wear uniforms 🤗
@helenS that was a great generation during an awful time. My relatives who served in that war had a deep respect for the allies. If only evil would have stayed defeated.
