@lori04f It isn't legal, even in Utah, but there are a few Mormon sects that still practice polygamy.

I think the phrase gained currency a few years ago from the HBO series Big Love, which was about a family in one of these groups that practice polygamy and the lengths they would go to keep it a secret.
