I Hate Arrogant People

Why is it that atheists hates religious people? How intolerant do you have to be to tell someone what to believe? From a Christianity standpoint the “rules” or morals is just common decency. I’d admit most “Christians” need to re-evaluate their behavior, but atheists shouldn’t be offended by other people’s beliefs. Of course self entitlement , and pretentious attitudes are common traits among most atheists. I don’t see how science disproves God either. Physics, biology, and mathematics were the codes God used to create this world. If anything science proves God’s existence.

I wish people, both theist and atheists could realise that we can all have freedom to our beliefs without dictating or belittling another.

If it brings you no harm, stfu and sit down.
NickiHijab · F
@Wol62 It's a good thing no ones asking or forcing you to then.

*cut to you arguing how they are*
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@NickiHijab Sorry, where did I argue that they are forcing me?
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Pakistan eh? I do hope you are not a catholic, as the Bishop of Pakistan is very unhappy. The government there has locked up scores of his co-coreligionists for the crime of simply being catholics. You scored an own goal there mate!

Try not to fall into the us and them tribal framework. I've seen and spoken to people on both sides of the fence who are equally hypocritical and opinionated.
I've met christians who're judgemental and disrespectful towards athiests and the same from athiests to religious people.
It's a personal/attitude issue unfortunately.

I don't think people are naturally tolerant, whether they be atheist, or religious or whatever. I think passive aggression is so normal and ubiquitous. They like having influence, even in underhanded and subtle ways. Some of those religious people who seem tolerant, might actually be very controlling when it comes to their own children. They'll behave more towards you cause you're an adult and not related to you. Of course if you watch closely you'll see subtle signs of them trying to influence you. Same thing with atheist, they won't do it with religion but with other things.

This is why in real life I'm sort of like Wolverine and make most people who approach me go away, but only not as rude as Wolverine. I dont like living my life whereI have someone telling me to think this and that about things and life. I don't like pastors, nor priests, nor gurus, nor confidants, nor counselors, psychologist etc. I don't even like "friends" anymore, a word I think much too abused. Except if it's a girl I'm interested in. If I like her, then she's certainly welcome to leave her imprint on me.

I don't hate religious people at all, however a lot of atheists go through a period of time where they do.

Largely because being an atheist around religious people exposes you to a lot of intolerance and "you're going to hell." It doesn't endear you - I got over it and realize that religious people can be as wonderful as anyone else, but I still remember how I was treated.
SW-User
@CountScrofula I was sure to criticize Christians in this post. I’ve found a lot of them run people off. I don’t even have many religious friends. I seem to be an outcast as well. I don’t think a lot of them understands the religion or what it means to be a follower of Jesus live like him. Jesus never shamed anyone in fact he surrounded himself around people that were considered bad
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User Right. Christianity is about radical compassion and Christians who hold that tenant of the faith dear are always good people. There are a lot of very religious people who believe that exclusion and intolerance are central to their beliefs and those are the ones you remember when you start saying you're an atheist.
Ishtar · 22-25, F
Atheism has itself become a religion now. But can't blame atheists tho, it's the religious people who suddenly decides they should proclaim their faiths in front of others, bringing in God whenever and wherever unnecessary.
It's irritating.
SW-User
@Ishtar I don’t think people understand where Christians, and Muslims are coming from. Both religions believe in converting. These people are trying to help others out and get ridiculed. You shouldn’t push your thoughts down others throats. But at least I’m the case of those two religions it’s in a caring way.
infiniterealism · 51-55, M
Good post. This post is very accurate and I agree with you 100 percent. I myself is not religious...at least not in a traditional sense. I always believed in science but recently I am realizing that science does not disprove a God. However I don't believe that God is as described by any of the present religions of today. Many atheists are doing what you described in this posts to act intelligent.
SW-User
@infiniterealism just the fact humans are capable of creating AI and VR it’s inconceivable to think something more advanced couldn’t have created this. As if this life is a simulation. Whatever created this simulation is God. I think that’s the easiest way I can describe my idea of God
infiniterealism · 51-55, M
@SW-User I hear you.
SW-User
Great post. It's given me something to think about. I think people should just live and let live honestly...No matter what they believe. 👍️
Azrael ·
Also, science works on evidence, there's no evidence at all that any type of god from any of the thousands of religions exists 🤷
SW-User
@Azrael you have way too much angry to be taken logically. All that anger tells me you act and think a lot on emotion
Azrael ·
@SW-User bruh I'm sorry for being emotional about things that do or might directly affect me and my life and my rights.
SW-User
@SW-User hay i dont think god is real also.
SW-User
We don’t. We shake our heads mostly.
SW-User
@SW-User you’re not helping yourself. Try not putting your foot in your mouth
SW-User
Hey, just letting you know. We don’t hate but do judge, except for the old sad people.@SW-User
SW-User
I agree with that actually. I've seen the most religious hostility from agnostics and atheists than I have seen from the religious towards any other belief set or group.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@SW-User How many people have been burnt at the stake or stoned to death by atheists?
SW-User
I don't mean wanting to kill someone. That's taking it too far. I've seen the most negative commentary and even hateful attitudes about religion geared toward Christianity.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Where though?
Carver · 31-35, F
I don’t care for religious people myself but atheists can be just as bad as. Many ironically follow atheism religiously and exhibit the exact same behavior as any religious zealot. It’s just like politics, for how different either side is, they’re exactly the same in many ways.
Azrael ·
Don't really hate the decent religious people, just the ones that use their religion as a way to justify their contempt/prejudice towards other people that are not like them.
And yes, I will attack someone's religion if they come to me saying they don't "agree" with me because their religious text says so and so or if their belief says something or the other. They had the chance to keep their mouth shut and let me be, if they gonna get into my business, I'mma tear apart theirs. Simple. 🤷

Christianity is in direct competition with liberalism, another form of religion.

I don't hate anyone.. My mother was religious, she just didn't force it on others. I didn't hate her.
Azrael ·
For all you've said, do you respect satanists then?
