I Am A Skunkseeker

So I was thinking that maybe we should start an official skunkseeking website to find other skunkseekers and have a central hub. What do you guys think?

@Tinkerbell2614: Well I kind of coined the phrase circa 2011 but to give you a brief definition...
Skunkseeker (noun): A person that deliberately chases or annoys skunks in order to provoke them into spraying to achieve personal gratification from their scent.

Now typically I hold fellow skunkseekers to a bit of a code of conduct in that they are to minimize actual contact with wildlife (grabbing the base of the tail, maybe tapping the rear at most) because this isn't about hurting anyone or anything, and the more contact you have with a wild animal the higher the chances of bites and scratches (and thus diseases) to your person. I also highly recommend that they take as many precautions to avoid bites and spread of the spray to their property as possible, but that's ultimately up to the individual.

That's......... weird. Lol

@Tinkerbell2614: Why thank you! To quote Frank Zappa: "Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible."

The weird people are the ones that make a difference and can change society for the better.

To give a better explanation of why we do it: There are unique pheromones in skunk scent that stand out especially on an actual full spray. Female skunks have particularly sweet pheromones, I've noticed, they smell like a combination of vanilla, bananas and marigolds and are very addicting and intoxicating to smell, so personally I prefer to be squirted by them. Males are mostly all stinky thiols but even they have some pretty nice pheromones to them. I find the scent not only quite enticing to my libido but also amazingly relaxing. When I'm skunked, I get in this wonderful relaxed, contented head space where all is right with the world and nothing can hurt me.

There's a variety of reasons people become skunkseekers though. Perhaps they simply love skunks that much and want to get engulfed in the scent as sort of a bonding or marking ritual. Maybe they have a stink fetish and want to smell as awful as possible without getting dirty or at least risking getting dirty and/or diseased. Or like me, they can detect the pheromones and just enjoy the scent immensely. I've even known someone that said they just like the funny reactions they get when other people smell skunk on them.

I don't judge and hope most people that look into this kind of thing won't judge either.

@APhoenix: What word would that be? And I'm sorry that you feel the need to resort to insults of a complete stranger.
Tybron · 41-45, M
@Tinkerbell2614: I would assume the word grammar, which is always hilarious to see people misspell.
AnarchoMetalchic · 36-40
@Tybron: Where did I spell grammar incorrectly??
Tybron · 41-45, M
@Tinkerbell2614: Gee I don't know maybe here? https://similarworlds.com/6920720-I-Dont-Like-People-Who-Hate-People-Over-Gramer/853441-Wtf-is-gramer

@Tybron: ??? Nothing was misspelled there...

@Tybron: Maybe you didn't see the title of the group or read all of my comments?
Tybron · 41-45, M
@Tinkerbell2614: Well technically you were mocking the name of the group. I got that. I doubt this "APhoenix" character did, however. He was being pedantic and sarcastic because you asked what a skunkseeker was when transitive logic applied to knowledge what a skunk is and what seeking is would give someone a pretty good idea. It was needlessly rude of him however.
AnarchoMetalchic · 36-40
@Tybron: I got the logic behind the term, however I was unfamiliar as to why one would purposely seek out a skunk.
@AnarchoMetalchic: I would explain but idk the exact science. But some people like the smell I guess... idk how to explain it otherwise but that's pretty much it
