I Am Feeling Down

I want to feel the emotional connection. And it's hard figuring it out all in your own. Wanting to be with someone but you have no one to help you find that person for you. You know what your looking for and what you want and need but it hurts when you don't have someone next to you helping you find him. And to lean on to talk to.

It's true; it gets to be exhausting, frustrating, and self-defeating. People telling you to "put yourself out there" and watching others seeming to interact with each other effortlessly only leads to feelings of inadequacy, deficiency, and being left behind. There really is no one to turn to. Even people who are willing to sympathize or who are able to empathize can't change the solitary path we are on.

As I analyze my situation, I feel like I have been without an emotional connection my entire life. Lately, I depress myself (I guess for my own sick amusement) by replaying all the times I have felt emotionally disconnected. It strikes me as especially tragic the younger I was when I realized there was not going to be an emotional connection for me "today." And, now with so many today's piled up, I feel like I have somehow failed in a critical life's mission that should have been easy.

I own a steady supply of hope that it can get better. I don't think people like us have to be without emotional connections, but I wonder if we ever will be able to feel connected. I feel like my sadness, right now, is contaminating that hope. Sorry...

@MarkPaul And I think to myself, put myself out there where? I feel like there's no direction. I do it on a daily basis now in general and I got that. That's where you start. But where else do you it at you know.

@MysteriousRose Those are the pieces that seem to be missing from our puzzle.

I can totally relate. I used to have this but finding it again seems impossible.

@MysteriousRose Thank you, i did try my best. She was an amazing girl and losing her is like losing a part of myself.

@SW-User That's how strong your love and bond for her is. And that never goes away. She'll always be in your heart.
