Since Thursday it's been hunting season for Doe. The mountains echoes with gunshots. 😔 I hate this time of the year!!!!!!!! BUT.... I help "hide" the deer ones... I feed them and keep them out of harms way...well at least a few of them.
This picture is from my kitchen window. We normally have from 8 to 15 deer every morning. I bet I have a dozen pictures of my loved morning guest.
We have a serious over population here between no predators and not enough hunters I guess. A lot of deer have a wasting disease from not enough food. I usually have two or three in my yard but love your view!
@SageWanderer Yup, WV here, the deer are dying due to some kind of fly bite?? Really. I hike these woods and never saw a dead one so… anyways, yes, the deer population is bad here too. Enough hunters, no doubt but just good breed country I guess..lol… oh... my husband is a hunter. I was a butcher's daughter... we process at least two deer a year. It's our red meat. But... I guess it's no difference if I go to Krogers and buy up some good steaks. But at least I never look them into their eyes. 😞
@Echoing I have seen a few in the woods dead and some really thin ones, My hunting days are on hold for the time being but I do have some deer meat that I get from some locals.
