Can anyone help???

We had “a” rat coming in our home for months now and no matter what I do or use it’s just not worked I’m NOT using poison at all.
So far I’ve use snap traps with loads of peanut butter because apparently they love it. It has set them off but I think that’s just with it walking by it maybe.
I’ve got a walk in box kinda trap and it’s not even set off at all this rat has ruined a lot of my kids clothes and ripped up loads of things.
It’s out every night I can hear it.
Boyfriend says he’s gonna cement the holes up... like what’s that gonna do.
Any ideas please ???

Get rid of them at all cost. Once they settle in they won’t leave. They are like squatters except you cannot get them out.
Poison, whatever it takes . Get an exterminator in do mess with them.
They have taken over homes

@Driver2 if I poison them I’d have to then pay someone to rip the kitchen up to get rid of the body

@MiraRoss I’m pretty sure there is poison to drive them outside like there is with mice. But you should find out.

@MiraRoss with mice they can’t breathe so they run outside for air and die
Not sure about rats 🐀
Just don’t wait till they settle in
