Name a book that....

Any math book really...
@Mindful math is not my friend, thank god for calculators!

@StormInaTeacup oh you got that right, when I get stuck I still breath a sigh of relief that I’m not in school and can USE a calculator! Now kids can use SIRI
@Mindful I will just stick with art thanks lol
SW-User
and physics
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
@SW-User I've taught all three to advanced levels. Teaching physics is my favourite of them :)

@PhilDeep You must be very good then. The first physics teacher I had in high school wasn't the best, maybe that's why. I liked her as a person but she was extremely old for a teacher. The way she explained the subject and communicated in general just felt so out of touch, if that makes sense

@SW-User I guess having a passion for it and being able to make it accessible to others are very different things. I think also loving literature gives me a balance so I like to view things from different perspectives when presenting them and enjoy it :)

Somehow the kids find that easy. But teaching them long division 🤯

@SW-User Give Chinese multiplication a go then!

Captain Corelli's Mandolin almost bored me to tears. Had to abandon it.

@Mindful It's "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemmingway
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Kwek00 yeah I know but I don’t KNOW that one! Now I have to read it, ( I’m being put to shame and not by math)
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Mindful Well, it made all the Mexicans cry.
I've read it, it's a pretty quick read. I honestly wasn't that impressed by it, it's a good book... but maybe I missed the "wow" factor that gets attributed to it by other readers. But you can finish it in a an hour or 2. It's a super quick read.
