Morning Blues
by Trace Avery
Got up this morning feeling fine,
Saw the clock was tracking time,
Rubbed my eyes and stretched out straight,
Had to hurry, not to be late.
A quick bathroom dash,
Reached up pulled the sash,
Cool breeze of morning air,
Jumped the shower washed the hair.
Washrag rubadub and toweled dry,
Brush the teeth and groomed this guy,
a chore each morning I must do,
gotta look fresh and brand new.
In my room looking about,
For clothes that were laid out,
Ahh, the socks a matching pair,
Dress fast and zip with care.
Now I'm ready except for hair,
Each one in it's place is very rare,
usually there’s a spray sprig or two,
I'll spray them down with sticky goo.
Grab the coffee got cup in hand,
Reach my truck and man oh man,
Start laughing and you hear me say,
Forgot its Sunday no work today
