I Am Curious

What makes us like a certain color? Pink and blue or yellow and orange? How come some people like the taste of a certain food while others cannot stand it? How are some of us night owls and others morning birds? How are we attracted towards some people and not others? We’re made the same way, aren’t we?
We all have the same motivational mechanisms, but we all have different histories, perceptions and subsequent experiences. There's much that goes into what tastes we prefer.

Bias builds over time as we associate certain things with certain events. These subconscious triggers are reinforced as neural pathways form and broaden. Think of your brain as possessing roads that are well used, ill used and areas where no roads have yet been paved.

Beyond that, there does seem to be genetic predisposition. Even though I did not know my father well or for long, my mother tells me I have a near identical taste in food to him. I also rub my nose the way he did.
