I Got Slippered At School

I got the slipper three or four times in high school for various offences, mainly being out of bounds at break times, and cheek in class. Only a few classroom teachers still used the slipper, but it was still in quite common use by the senior teachers in their offices. The usual form was you got a lecture and then had to bend over the desk. You would get between six and twelve hard whacks on the bottom. Most teachers administered the whacks quite swiftly. But the deputy head of our school was notorious for giving them very hard and slowly with a wait between strokes. This made it worse because there was just time for the sting to build from one stroke and you would get the next just as it was at its worst. I was never caned, but I'm told that had a similar effect.

My old PE teacher used a plimsoll, though he tended to call it a slipper. I called it the pump myself. I got it lots of times for not participating in PE. But I never had more than 6 smacks at a time, always over the seat of my trousers. It was nothing compared with a dozen or more smacks on my bare bottom with my dad's leather slipper. So I used to say it didn't hurt when I got spanked in school. Lol:)

We always said "the slipper" but it was really a plimsoll. I thought everyone used the same naming convention.

My slipperings at school, just two or three whacks across my knickers were nothing compared to the one or two dozen on the bare that I got at home.

@Sharon: I did occasionally refer to it as a slipper but I always felt uneasy calling it that simply because it wasn't technically a slipper. It's just that I tend to be literal and precise. I often got up to two dozen on the bare from my dad (with a leather slipper), so six with a plimsoll over my trousers was mild by comparison.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: the plimsoll was always referred to as the "slipper" in my school and by my friends who attended other schools. At home the real "slipper" was used by most parents who, like your dad, applied it to the bare backside repeatedly which did make the typical school "slippering " seem relatively mild.

So why was it called a slipper in school? Especially since they usually had laces in them. I never saw the logic in that. I used to say that school slipperings didn't hurt (as if I was trying to appear tougher than I really was), but the truth of the matter was that it didn't hurt all that much because I was already accustomed to worse spankings from my dad. Lol:)

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: It wasn't just at school. My parents and my friends' parents all called a plimsoll a slipper when it was used to whack us.

@Sharon: My parents didn't, they called it a pump. I sometimes called it that in school and I wasn't the only one. In fact I heard the PE teacher calling it a pump on one or two occasions although he did call it a slipper as well. Lol:)

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: I believe 'pump' is a dialect word used in some parts of England. Possibly the North?

@Sharon: I come from North Wales myself, although my mum was originally from Yorkshire, so maybe you're right. I don't know what they call it in the South.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: The plimsoll was sometimes referred to as a pump, but more in the context of it's being worn, "Have you remembered to bring your pumps with you for PE." I believe in some parts of the country it was called a "dap."
I have also heard one referred to as "Mr Dunlop" as in "Time for you to bend over and say hello to Mr Dunlop" - real wits those PE teachers, or half way there mostly!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@jackcros: I've never heard of "dap". I don't remember hearing it called Mr. Dunlop either, I would have laughed if I'd heard that. Lol:)

Had you laughed at Mr Dunlop, you would very probably have made his acquaintance!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@jackcros: Yes, I'm sure I would. But I wasn't scared of Mr. Dunlop because I was already used to getting far worse spankings from my dad. Lol:)

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: so was I
