I Got Slippered At School

I got the slipper three or four times in high school for various offences, mainly being out of bounds at break times, and cheek in class. Only a few classroom teachers still used the slipper, but it was still in quite common use by the senior teachers in their offices. The usual form was you got a lecture and then had to bend over the desk. You would get between six and twelve hard whacks on the bottom. Most teachers administered the whacks quite swiftly. But the deputy head of our school was notorious for giving them very hard and slowly with a wait between strokes. This made it worse because there was just time for the sting to build from one stroke and you would get the next just as it was at its worst. I was never caned, but I'm told that had a similar effect.

Hmmm. Doesn't seem to have been very effective as a deterrent, neither to "original sins" nor to recidivists! :-)

I must admit being lucky not to have been a victim of all this gratuitous domestic violence masquerading as "discipline", and of rule by fear not respect... but how could it be said to have worked if it was used so often?

One I can understand too although my experiences were not theatrical, severe spankings. In fact I hated anyone hitting me but something made me develop what became my penchant now!

I commented that harshly because there are other people on here who go too far.

@ArishMell Do you think my dad went too far when he gave me a couple of dozen on the bare bottom with a leather slipper? It left me with a very sore bottom but no severe or lasting damage, so I would say he didn't go too far.

Well, I'd certainly say it was excessive even though I realise the bruises would heal! I appreciate it gave you the desires it did, though I doubt that was your Dad's intention...

@ArishMell I believe I was born with masochistic tendencies because my horoscope says I was. So it served my dad right for not believing in that. Lol :)

Well now, that's certainly one way of looking at it! :-) How much we are born with our tastes is another matter, but there could be something there ready and waiting for the right catalyst.
