I Have Never Been Married

I have had my fair share of odd looks over the years due to my admitting in conversation that I'm not only single, but that I have never married. What a pity it seems to be such a stigma to some people. I have had relationships over the years, none of which progressed any further. Perhaps the chemistry wasn't as strong as we had first thought, perhaps we weren't the soulmates we believed us to be. Life doesn't always turn out the way we would like it to but we learn to roll with it. I don't rule out marriage even now, but I won't let myself lose sleep over wondering if I will ever find a partner. Things can go either way and you know what? I'm okay with that.

People are never satisfied. If you don't have kids at all, they're going to call you selfish, if you do have kids in your 40s, you're selfish again, while if you do at 18 you're an irresponsible slut. If you get married at 19 it's too early, if you get at 50 too late and if never, you're a sad lady with only cats for company.
So whatever, just because there are some social "standards" no one should think that their life is not as it should be, that they need to change.
I'm 18 and never had a boyfriend and whenever it happens to say that, I get weird looks lol as if I don't have my whole life ahead of me...
I've come to realize that if you have health and happiness, nothing else matters.

@HannibalAteMeOut well said !!!!! I don't know when it became some silly rule that people have to have had a date by 18...probably they judge harshly these days if you're still a virgin. It's mental...caring what other people think, doing something just because others do it...like sheep. The smartest and strongest are the ones who don't allow others to control their lives. You are wise
