Letting Go a Little More Everyday

Damn iPhone People and Places feature. I was doing really good lately until I pressed play on the memory of my ex. Playing that emotional music in the background while zooming in on pictures, playing slow motion short clips because I forgot to take off the live feature on my camera, which also has sound so I hear her laugh which was given a nice faded effect as they disappear. It is a great feature and the technology is amazing but damn it, now I miss her

Mine has ruined vast swathes of music, places, items and thoughts for me. I deleted a lot, but there are still pictures buried in my phones history that I stumble upon from time to time.

You only take pics of the good times..sigh

@KuroNeko I cant take the photos off my phone yet, or the bracelet she gave me. I guess I’m just not ready. That’s a good point about only taking pictures of the good times. Luckily shortly after I start reminiscing about those times the reasons why it didn’t work come to mind. I’m not sure if it’s a way for me to push my emotions away and stop feeling sad or if it serves to protect me from trying to reconnect. Maybe both.
Have you tried going to those places to remove the emotional ties to them?

@Contemplative I will eventually replace the memories with other memories. It just takes time. I don't want to discount the good times we had. I try to remember them fondly and let it go.

I had a camera in my kitchen which caught a really bad tantrum he had. It was one of many, but I saved it to remind myself why I had to remove myself from the relationship.

I'm doing my best to enjoy the good and remember what I learned from the bad.

@KuroNeko I really needed to hear that, thank you.
