I Have a Question

how to get an apt manager to listen to your complaints instead of ignoring them? he let my neighbor next to me live there for 9 months while doing meth, they couldnt prove it and finally got her out cause her boyfriend was living with her and not on the lease, after she left they found meth all over her walls, not sure why she aint in jail for that. another neighbor under me breaks the lease all the time by having her grandkids there every wknd, theyre toddlers, i love kids but i feel like i cant do nothing all wknd, not with my floor shaking and even my table shakes a lot cause of them running around, its senior housing and i feel bad for her neighbors that just got out of the hospital and have to listen to them scream and run around, we're only supposed to have overnight visitors 7 nights a yr, not every wknd night, she brings them in when the manager leaves on thursday and now is bringing them back cause of him coming back tomorrow, i live on top of her and find it unfair to have to listen to all the running around and my floor moving all the time. i heard shes doing pot, people say they smell it when she opens her door, so then why is she taking care of kids while doing drugs, anyone else i can talk to besides a manager that could care less? should i tell the police about the pot smoking or cps about her watching kids under the influence.
I really don't know Pearl.. Im just guessing you should tolerate your neighbours a biy more...

everyone is having some kind of problem and we should stay away from them... you can make complaint once or twice hoping they will take care of it, but if they don't, then making more complaints will make you the one who causes headache to them... 馃馃

It takes a lot for Housing to do anything without PROOF. Noise after 10 pm is not allowed, but unless others are complaining there's not much you can do alone.

Housing needs PROOF, not people saying they can smell pot or whatever. If you are on good terms with the manager it helps. Sometimes it's not that the manager does not care about things like you complained about, but they have rules from the higher ups to follow.

I also live in Housing and with over 130 apartments to watch out for it is hard for managers to know if people just don't get along or if it's a real problem. I've always been able to get to know my managers before anything bad has happened. So far I've only had problems with one resident and that is being taken care of soon.

If you keep having problems see if you can get a transfer to another complex, but be aware many residents are the same no matter where you go
Call the police every time there is an issue worth reporting. You can report for noise. You can report for drugs. You can report for unknown persons cycling in and out of their residence or too many people in one living space. (Be prepared for your neighbors to hate you lol.)

Keep a journal/diary for copies of the police reports, as well as your own account of the situation and as many details as possible. Take pictures. Once you have information collected you can bring the folder to your landlord and threaten to report. If landlord still does nothing you can give the whole folder to a higher up (review board) or the police and go from there.
