I Hate Politics

I follow it, but I hate it. I don't really care who's right and who's wrong, as much as I care for how we treat one another for our differing views. It's ok to disagree, but it's not ok to be divided.
I know right? We work so hard to fight and find enemies with our own people over politics when there’s people out there in other countries that don’t know anything about us and want us dead. Politics are not the same as they were 10 or even 20 years ago. Now it’s so aggressive that you have people completely refusing to friend you or even defriending you soley based on your political preference.

Also if we were living in 1864 he would be enslaved as a black man too.
@JaggedLittlePill it would be cognitive dissonance if your assumptions were correct in using the Hitler example....bad example and I don’t agree with this bc we are now crossing the criminal line. Let’s also not magnify this any more than what was stated. My reference to friend doesn’t mean everyone with a political belief can do whatever they want- there are boundaries. At a high level- I don’t think it’s right to discount someone based on their political beliefs....this also goes with their race, religion, gender, sexuality and physical attributes (You know...the main ones covered under harassment). That’s what I mean. And who said I sided with a racist...again bad assumption/example. I’m talking about basic decency and respect offered to other people that are allowed to have their own political opinion. We’re not saying that the country must be all rainbows and unicorns with unification of all political beliefs and everything is always peaceful. We’re saying there’s a better way to go about this than aggression and constantly attacking your neighbor for their political beliefs bc your personal opinion differs. That we work so hard to hate one another just for this one thing when there are others out there that want us dead just for our nationality alone- they don’t care which side of the political fence we fall on. What if you’re not one of the ppl in the example below that mouths off and says crazy crap, but just happened to tell you that they are a “x” and thus far have been pretty peaceful and allowed you the floor to air your opinions without judgement? Does this person deserve the right or wrong speech too? What’s next...do we tell this person their religion is wrong? Where do we draw the line when it comes to respecting your neighbor for their political beliefs if they have not personally attempted to oppress or offend you?
thanks looking I agree with this thought of yours I’m just concerned about the Democrats an repeblucicns not so much the independents the democrats an republicans are the ones that run this great country of USA after all wheather or not u agree with them or disagree agree with them or like it or do not at least mr Donald trump is trying to help

To come together as one..wouldn't that be grand!
I care who’s right and who’s wrong. Because in this particular case, there is right and wrong here, even if some people have lost sight of it. This president is a racist, he’s been proving it both as a private citizen and in the White House. And the people who still support him, support that. And I have no desire to unify with that.
@bijouxbroussard That's fair lol. I know it's a weird question, but may I ask where you think I stand on all of this, although you may not entirely care? haha.
@LookingForSomethingNew Honestly, I don’t know, although it’s obvious to me that you’re trying to appear neutral and objective.
@bijouxbroussard That's good to hear because I am trying to appear neutral. But ofc, I have a side, as we all do. And I generally agree with absolutely everything that you've said, but I believe for different reasons. That's why I'm curious to learn more about your perspective :P

Right and wrong matter. In terms of your rights.. if you want to continue to be able to do and think for yourself you should recognize your role.

We are divided because no one "cares" about anyone else. Nor do they care about right and wrong.

You see...when wrong things happen all the time there is no hope for coming together.

When lives are continually marginalized...when lives are placed on a lower level than economy and business. There can not be togetherness.

So many fail to grasp this.
@JaggedLittlePill I believe right and wrong matter, but not as much as how we feel. I know that is contrary to general belief, but we are emotional creatures. If we believe we are being challenged, we will defend our ideals, even if we may feel we may infact be wrong. And so, if being right isn't enough to persuade this country, but being empathetic can have the ability to persuade one another more effectively, then shouldn't we care more about how we feel over who is right?

I'll extend an olive branch. In an ideal world, we should prioritize who is right over feelings, but this isn't the ideal world, unfortunately :/ I think caring more about how we feel is what would lower our guard enough to listen to what we each have to say and ultimately lead us to our ideal greater priority of who is right and who is wrong.
