I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

Pretty people don't have real struggles or problems compared to ugly people. More people are willing to bend over backwards to help a pretty person with their issues than they would an ugly person.
In a court of law, it pays to be attractive as juries tend to show a bias in favor of good-looking defendants. A new Cornell study ("When Emotionality Trumps Reason") found that unattractive defendants tend to get hit with longer, harsher sentences -- on average 22 months longer in prison, than attractive defendants.

The study also identified two kinds of jurors: Those who process information emotionally and give harsher verdicts to unattractive defendants and those who do it rationally and focus less on defendants' looks.

Who ever said life was fair?

It's not a controversial view among people studying social sciences. There's a good chunk of research backing this up.

The problem I run into is how theses studies established criteria for what makes someone pretty or not, since there doesn't seem to be a consistent benchmark and the variables tend to be different from one study to the next.

In any case, I'm sorry you've had to struggle through life simply because the world we live in is shallow and petty. If it brings you any solace, there are far more people than you realize out there willing to look past your looks and be with you for the right reasons. There are a lot of guys out there struggling with their image as well, and it figures that they could really relate to you and hold similar values
Maybe? But I am thinking pretty people also have struggles in terms of always trying to maintain their beauty to the point of going on extreme measures like having endless surgeries

Are you serious....do you know how many fake best friends that are envious and are patiently waiting for a perfect moment to back stab, "pretty" people have? Nothing but snakes. "Pretty" people have to deal with betrayal all the time and if they are too sensitive--- suffer. There is a price for everything. The men that " constantly" hit on then are usually perverts, looking for a hoe and don't take them seriously. Dealing with constant hate. Even your own mother can start hating you if it looks like her boyfriend is flirting with a pretty younger daughter. You have no idea.

It's true beautiful people tend to have it easier than most others. But everyone has something serious to deal with in life. Nobody is in the right position to look down upon anyone and say that they don't have "real" problems.

I would say this little differently. Most of them would be ready to pick a pretty baby and bit reluctant to jump in for an not so good looking baby :)

I can see that being the case.
